It took me a long time to find my own style. In my late twenties, I began incorporating pieces of men's clothing into my wardrobe, blending them with the women's clothes I typically wore. The transition was slow, and even after I stopped wearing feminine clothes altogether, I found myself occasionally reaching for a dress for formal events simply because men's suits in size XS were too big, and I didn't want to appear sloppy. Over time, I discovered certain European brands that catered to smaller sizes in men's clothing, although they tended to be pricier and often still required tailoring due to length or fit on the hips. This experience inspired me to create pieces for ALGND with androgynous styling in mind, specifically tailored for those who, like me, run on the smaller side. Of course, Jennifer and I also expanded our sizing to accommodate additional shapes and sizes.
